Some people call me an OG of wedding business marketing, but deep down I'm just another person wearing PJ bottoms on Zoom. I swear a lot, I share my struggles, and I don't pretend to be better than anyone else.
I love helping you with your wedding business but I’m not an expert on everything. I have several people that I turn to when I need help with my business, and I want you to have that too. These 20 people do such an amazing job at helping people grow their businesses and I wanted to share their wealth of knowledge with you!
Stephanie & Jeff Padovani
Why I love them: Okay so obviously Stephanie & Jeff are two people but they run Book More Brides together so I’m going to put them together here. These two constantly create awesome blog posts and products for wedding entrepreneurs. I love their free Price Shopper Email Formula to help you deal with emails asking about your prices.
Jeff Hellenbrand
Cake Coaching
Why I love him: Jeff is big on how we can be more generous in our businesses (and that doesn’t mean working for free!) and I love that idea. Business doesn’t have to be a ruthless battle for clients and Jeff reminds us of that with great posts like this one.
Debbie Orwat
Why I love her: Debbie provides actionable business and marketing tips for wedding and event planners on Planner’s Lounge. Planner’s Lounge is all the more credible because Debbie is actually a planner herself and runs both Save The Date Events and StudioWed, a boutique showroom, design studio and concierge service in Denver. This means that she is able to offer advice from the trenches and it is always great stuff. Get to know Debbie in her short intro video and check out the post popular posts here.
Robert Schenk
Wedding Industry Law
Why I love him: Rob gives great legal insight to wedding professionals on his blog in the form of case studies and answers to questions he has been asked so it isn’t boring and theoretical in any way. He tackles specific issues that affect wedding professionals in posts like this one on 3 essential terms that a photography contract must have.

Jamie Swanson
Why I love her: Jamie writes really targeted, specific blog posts that focus on issues that photographers face in their businesses. I’m particularly fond of this one about how to make more money with in person sales.
Liene Stevens
Think Splendid (and the entire Splendid Collective)
Why I love her: Think Splendid is a very unique blog all about psychology and consumer behavior in the wedding industry. Liene also puts together some of the best market research available on the wedding industry that is nothing short of fascinating. I often find myself referring to her posts about understanding millennials.
Michelle Loretta & Kelly Simants
Why I love them: This fabulous duo discuss business planning, financial planning and everything that comes with that in a way that doesn’t make you want to run away screaming, which in itself is a pretty impressive feat. They have a toolbox full of great downloads to help you get your plans in place.

Why I love her: Amy is my go to girl when it comes to all things Facebook and Facebook ads. She has a way of explaining even the most technical aspects in a way that is easy to understand. Amy has a podcast (which I love) and free webinars like this one all about Facebook Ads. I have a big fat business crush on Amy and I’m not afraid to admit it 🙂
Why I love her: Joy is all about providing education to help photographers run a more profitable business. She has a free pricing for profit workbook based on 6 big lessons she has learned the hard way in her photography business.
Laura Roeder
LKR Social Media
Why I love her: The Dash (the LKR blog) features posts from Laura and the LKR team plus lots of other contributors who run their own small businesses. Posts on The Dash are always actionable and to the point and Laura has all sorts of great webinars that she runs as well. Laura is one of my “business crushes” who I really look up to and I think you’ll see why. Check out her free webinar on how to get your first 1000 fans.
Bernadette Chapman & Sandy Moretta
UK Alliance of Wedding Planners
Why I love them: Bernadette & Sandy work to train wedding planners, provide helpful blog posts and even run regional workshops and networking events. The UKAWP is a great organization for any wedding planner in the UK to belong to and focuses on education instead of just a membership.
Alex Beadon
Why I love her: Alex creates sassy, fun videos that help photographers with business strategy & marketing. Not only does she always have great tips, it’s really interesting to see how she blogs through video instead of the traditional text format.
Julie Albaugh
Wedding Market
Why I love her: Julie runs the #WeddingMarket Twitter chats at 1pm EST every Wednesday. She brings all sorts of experts in the industry on as guests and host Q&As via Twitter chat and those are always interesting. Julie also runs Ohio Weddings TV and as a social media journalist, always has great insights to share.
Natasha Vorompiova
Why I love her: Natasha helps small business owners set up systems in their businesses. It sounds boring, but Natasha has a way of teaching this in a way that shows you exactly how it can help you make more money in business, which is interesting to all of us. Check out her Systems Chick’s Guide to Transforming Busyness Into Business.
Why I love her: Liz has a way of explaining technical topics like SEO and Google Analytics in a way that is easy to understand. She has a great free course available called The Google Analytics Quickstart Email Course and I highly recommend.

Amy Fraughton
Why I love her: Amy focuses on the business side of being a photographer and writes great posts like this one about getting referrals. She offers even more in depth information and brings pro panels to the members of her VIP area. She is the mother of 4 children on top of being a business owner so she definitely knows a thing or two about time management!
Zach Prez
Why I love him: Zach is excellent at explaining topics like SEO, sales and accounting. His SEO Cookbook is a full of recipes to rank higher.
Brigitte Lyons
Why I love her: Brigitte has worked with big brands and in PR agencies but now focuses on helping small businesses. Brigitte will help you figure out how to do media outreach, create a media list and nail down a media plan for your business.
Julia Braime
Why I love her: Julia doesn’t just run a wedding blog that focuses on brides & grooms, she puts together wedding fairs, tweet ups and industry networking events for wedding professionals. She is running an exciting Halloween networking event for wedding professionals in the UK that you should check out.
Derek Halpern
Why I love him: I love Derek’s attitude and demeanor. It’s unlike that of most marketing & business professionals. As for his content, Derek focuses on the psychology of sales and all the little things going on in our brains that we don’t take into consideration. He cites scientific evidence and psychological studies that give insight into how we really make purchasing decisions. Be sure to check out his post on how to prevent new clients from haggling your rates.

Thanks for the shoutout! 🙂
No problem Jamie! I really love the content you produce and think it’s very helpful. Oh and on a totally unrelated note, your hair is awesome. I’ve added purple into my hair and I’m hooked. There will be more colors to come!
Totally fun! Colors are addicting (and expensive) so beware… but they are just so fun!
Yeah I’m learning that, but it’s so worth it 🙂
Thanks for the recommendation – we’re blushing here in the UK 🙂
No problem! You do great work for planners here in the UK.
Thanks from LKR Social Media :)!
