Some people call me an OG of wedding business marketing, but deep down I'm just another person wearing PJ bottoms on Zoom. I swear a lot, I share my struggles, and I don't pretend to be better than anyone else.
Engagement season is right around the corner. Is your marketing ready for those newly engaged couples?
40% of all engagements occur between November and Valentine’s Day with the bulk of them occurring between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. According to WeddingWire, Christmas Day repeatedly tops the most popular days to get engaged followed by Valentine’s Day, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day, and New Year’s Eve. That means there will soon be a whole lot of engaged couples who are excitedly researching wedding vendors!
50% of couples start wedding planning within 1 month of getting engaged. 50% of planning is done from a smartphone/tablet device and 56% of couples only consider booking vendors they can find on social media.
All of these excited engaged couples are celebrating and starting their planning right away. Planning a wedding is exciting and they dive in headfirst which is why you and your marketing needs to be ready for them. This is the time when your marketing should be absolutely on point so you can attract your ideal clients.
Engagement season presents a huge opportunity for your business and the way you capitalize on it will determine how well you do. Imagine for a moment that engagement season is like one of those cash-blowing booths and money is flying all around you. $1s, $5s, $10s, $20s, $50s, and $100s are blowing all around you and you have to decide how to get the most out of your limited time in the booth.
So what do you do?
Most wedding professionals just start grabbing aimlessly at any piece of paper they can get their hands on. Smart wedding professionals go into it with a plan and grab the $100 bills strategically without wasting their time frantically grabbing for $1 bills. You can work very hard at grabbing those $1 bills all day but it’s not going to get you very far. Hard work is not the main ingredient to running a successful business. Let’s work smarter instead of just working harder for the sake of it.
So how do you work smarter when it comes to getting your marketing ready for engagement season? How do you create the strategy for grabbing those $100 bills?
