There are a lot of people talking about how important blogging is in businesses, but many of them neglect to explain why. I’ll break down 7 of the top reasons why blogging is so vital to businesses today.
More blog posts means that your site will have more pages indexed with Google which really helps your SEO. Google will come back to your website more often when it sees that you produce regular content. Google loves fresh content, in fact you are actually penalised for not creating new content.
Blogging allows you to demonstrate how much you know about weddings, thereby proving that you are an expert in your field. Awards and testimonials can only do so much, and blogging give you a chance to show off your expertise instead of just talking about it. Blogging also allows you to write content that is beneficial to your audience. Couples who are visiting your website will remember that your content answers their most pressing questions about planning their wedding.
According to an unbiased survey of over 14,000 people married in 2011 by Splendid Insights, “More important than a website is an updated blog. Your website is your business card, the blog is the conversation. For example, 85% of Ritzy Bee‘s clients hired them because of their blog & then those clients refer via word of mouth.”
Your potential clients can get to know you at their own pace and they know you’re not some fly-by-night scam artist.
If a couple is going to spend their entire wedding day and preparation time with you, they want to know that you are the kind of person they would like to be around. Liene Stevens discusses this on her blog, Think Splendid.
Your blog posts give you something helpful to share to build your brand. You can break up a top 10 tips post into 10 separate tweets that link back to your post.
Your website visitors will go through your other posts and pages which means that they will learn more about you and what you have to offer.
Website visitors may not be ready to book you yet, but by giving them a reason to come back they remember you when it is time to buy. Making decisions about who to hire for a wedding a big deal and can be daunting to a newly engaged couple so they need time to research and figure out what they want. This is where email marketing comes in and I’ll be covering that later in this ecourse.
The next lesson in this ecourse will cover common objections that business owners have about blogging. Until then, if you have any questions please ask them on the Facebook page so others can learn from your questions.
