Some people call me an OG of wedding business marketing, but deep down I'm just another person wearing PJ bottoms on Zoom. I swear a lot, I share my struggles, and I don't pretend to be better than anyone else.

You’re posting. You’re showing up onsocial media. You’re working your little tail off. Annnnnndddd your inbox is still quiet.
Engagement season is about a month away, and a quiet inbox is about to get very expensive. This is when newly engaged couples start searching, scrolling, and asking friends who to hire. If they can’t see you, they can’t pick you.
So I built a brand new free live workshop. It’s Tuesday, October 27th at 12pm Pacific (3 pm Eastern). In this episode I’m breaking down why visibility is so important and what most wedding pros are missing.

Heidi Thompson:
Do you want more visibility this engagement season? I have got the perfect thing for you in this episode.
Hey there, welcome to the podcast. I’m your host, Heidi Thompson. I am here to help you right now get more visibility this engagement season so you can get more bookings. Now, registration opened yesterday for something that I have been building for a while. So I’m going to break it down for you, make sure you know all about it, how you can access it. It’s totally free. I would love for you to join.
Now, if you’ve ever signed up for a free training, you watch the first six minutes, you told yourself you would catch the rest on replay, and then you watch the replay at roughly the same speed as you do your taxes, I want you to know that I get it and you’re among friends. Everyone listening to this has done that. I’ve done it. So today I want to tell you exactly what’s in this workshop, why I’m teaching it live, and why I think it’s worth an hour of your week as we move into one of the busiest seasons of the year. On Tuesday, October 27th at noon Pacific, which is three o’clock Eastern time, I’m teaching a free live workshop that is brand new called How to Get More Visibility This Engagement Season. It’s built for wedding pros who are already showing up and just want more of the right couples to see them as engagement season hits so they can get booked. The link is evolveyourweddingbusiness.com/visible.
And I’ll say that again at the end. I’ll put it in the show notes so you don’t have to scramble for a pen. Everything else in this episode is to answer three questions that I would be asking if I were you? What am I going to get out of it? Why do I need to be there live? And is it for me? So let me start with what you’ll walk away with, because I’d rather you decide based on that than, you know, just my charm and you loving to hang out with me. First, you’ll leave with a clear picture of what visibility is actually made of. Most of us treat it like it’s this one big thing. You’re either visible or you’re not. And the problem with that is that makes it very hard to know what to do on a Tuesday afternoon with an hour of your time and a laptop Visibility has a handful of moving parts and when you can see each one you can tell which ones are carrying their weight in your business and which ones are leaking. It usually isn’t the case that the whole thing is wrong. It’s usually one of these components that is an issue, and we’re going to troubleshoot that.
Second, you’ll see where your own effort is paying off and where it isn’t. I’ll walk you through how to look at your own business with that lens using numbers you already have, like how many inquiries you’ve had in the last 90 days and where they came from. And if you haven’t looked at that information in a while, now is a great time to check in with that. Third, you’ll leave with steps that you can take to succeed this engagement season. Engagement season is really just a few weeks away, and this workshop lands about a month before it really picks up, which is on purpose. So you’ve got time to do something with what you learn instead of just filing it away in a folder labeled things I’m going to get to later. I’m also going to teach this in a way that doesn’t require you to add five new things to your plate. If you’ve been listening to this podcast, if you’ve been learning from me for any amount of time, you know I am not trying to add more to your plate. I’m usually trying to take things off of your plate and make things easier for you. If you walk out of that workshop with a longer to-do list than you walked in with, I’ve done it wrong. So don’t worry, you’re not going to get piled on with this. All right, why live? Why not just record this and send it out? Well, I’ll give you two reasons. The first is I want to answer your questions.
When I teach this, the questions people ask are about their specific business. A florist in Ohio, a planner who does mostly micro weddings, a DJ who’s afraid of being on camera.
Those are my favorite part because those are the moments where something really clicks, not just for the person asking the question, but for everybody else in the room. And that’s something that can happen with me just recording this.
The second reason is a little more honest. People who show up live to things tend to do something with what they learn.
And people who watch a replay eventually mostly file it under, I’ll get to that later. And I’m not saying that to guilt you. I’m saying that because I do that. And I’ve also seen it for 14 years.
I would like you to get a result, which is a hell of a lot more fun for both of us, than you just getting a video you casually watch. That said life is life and it is coming up to engagement season It a busy time for a lot of people So everyone who registers gets access to the replay which will stay up through November 2nd So register even if you not sure you can make it. I would love for you to be there so you can ask your questions and get answers live, and you’ll get the recording either way. Now, who is this training for?
It is for planners, photographers, videographers, florists, DJs, officiants, caterers, hair and makeup artists, stationary designers, venues, live wedding painters, calligraphers, and the person who does floral design and also calligraphy and also is somehow running a rental company on the side. You know who you are. If you work in weddings, you are absolutely welcome. This is for you. More specifically, it’s for you if you feel like you are just posting things that you feel like should be working. They should be getting you visible to the right people and you’re just hearing crickets. It’s for you if you feel like your inbox just feels slower than the effort you’re putting in deserves. It’s for you if you found yourself standing in front of a new platform at 11 at night wondering, do I really need to add this? Is this going to be the thing that finally works? And who is it not for? Look, if you’re already booked solid through 2028, if your inbox looks like a stock market ticker on a good day, you’re more than welcome to come, but you may have a better use of your lunch hour. That’s a really nice problem to have.
I’m very happy for you. Now, I want to be upfront with you so nothing feels sneaky.
The workshop is free. I will teach the whole thing. And near the end, I’ll tell you about the Wedding Business Collective, which is my membership for wedding pros who really want the step-by-step of putting all of this into practice. If that’s something you want, great.
I’ll show you how to join. If it isn’t, you’ll still learn from this workshop and you don’t owe me anything.
I would rather you leave with something useful and a clear no than leave with any sort of pushy feeling. Now, let me address the three things I hear most from Wedding Pros.
When I put something like this together, when I invite people, the first is always, always, always, always, I don’t have time. I get it. Of course you don’t. It’s October. We’re coming into engagement season. You’re booked with weddings. Your inbox looks like a to-do list that grew a second to-do list out of one of the threads. It’s an hour. It’s at lunchtime on the West Coast. It’s recorded if your day goes absolutely sideways.
And if it helps, think of it as swapping an hour of posting something else that doesn’t land on social media for an hour of figuring out where the next three months of your effort should go. Now I also hear a lot of people say well I been burned by webinars or trainings before And I hear you Most of them are a slideshow of vague ass advice And I can promise you love mine but I can promise that you’ll get specific things that you can do that same afternoon. And I’ll take questions live, which means you’ll get to get your questions answered, but you’ll also be able to hear what other people in your shoes are dealing with and how it applies to you. That always sparks ideas. The other question is, is this going to work for my kind of business? And I get this one all the time. I have worked with wedding pros across every category of a wedding vendor there is across six continents for the past 14 years.
And the questions from a florist and a photographer and a dance instructor sound a lot more alike than you would think. If you sell a product or service to couples who are getting married and you are posting on social media, you are working your little tail off, you are trying to get seen and get visible, but it’s just not working for you, this is the right room for you to be in. Now, let me tell you why I’m teaching this, because it isn’t a random topic that I picked. I have done this podcast for more than, what, 370 episodes now.
I wrote a book called Clone Your Best Clients, and I’ve been coaching wedding pros, like I said, all around the world, across six different continents, more than 30 countries, for over 14 years. And the thing that I hear over and over again in coaching calls, in comments, in my DMs, over on Instagram, is some version of this sentence.
I am working so hard. I’m posting. I’m showing up. And I don’t get why it isn’t turning into bookings.
And I’ve watched a lot of really talented people quietly decide that this isn’t for them, that they’re not Instagram famous enough to get booked, and I’m tired of it. some of the best wedding pros I know some of the most caring and creative people I know have one of the quietest inboxes and comment sections and it has almost nothing to do with how good they are at their craft almost never has anything to do with that so I built a workshop for them with a plan that they can use this season so that more of the right couples see them before the holidays hit. So here’s how to make this simple for yourself.
The workshop is happening live Tuesday, October 27th. It’s happening at 12 noon Pacific. That’s 1 p.m. Mountain, 2 p.m. Central, 3 p.m. Eastern. That would be 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 PM GMT. Open your calendar right now while you’re listening.
Put it in as a client call because you treat your client calls as non-negotiable. And this is a call for the future version of your business. And you need to show up to create that future version of your business. Then go register for your free spot at evolveyourweddingbusiness.com/visible. That is also in the show notes.
And bring a notebook, bring one question about your business because I am going to take as many as I humanly can. So if you’re ready, go grab your free seat now before the day, before the week gets away from you. That link is in the show notes. It’s evolveyourweddingbusiness.com/visible. and it’s happening Tuesday, October 27th at 12 noon Pacific, 3 p.m. Eastern. It’s free, it’s live, it’s built for exactly what is happening to you right now and I would love to see you there.
And if you know a wedding pro who has also been quietly struggling with slow inquiries, send this episode to them. I would love to have a full room of people who really want to make this change because it’s not as difficult as you might think to get the visibility you need this engagement season.
Thanks so much for taking the time to listen. I’ll speak to you soon, and I hope to see you on the training.
